Chrome
Reflection where your tip used to be.
The hand becomes its own light source. People glance at chrome before they glance at your face — the eye is honest about reflectivity. Soft chrome whispers; hard chrome announces. Both are correct. Chrome is the only finish that changes value with the angle of your wrist; what looks pewter at the elevator looks rose-silver in the elevator's mirror. It does not photograph the way it looks — knowing this is part of the trade. The myth is that chrome is loud. The truth is that chrome refuses to flatter; it tells the truth about the room you're in. Pair it with skin that hasn't been told to compete with it. The risk is looking like merchandise. The fix is keeping the rest of your hand quiet — no chunky ring, no second metal. One finish. One temperature.
